Governing Bodies and Documents
Acadia University is governed by a Bicameral Governance structure, as set out by the Act of Incorporation of Acadia University.
The Board of Governors is responsible for financial and operational matters.
The Senate is responsible for academic matters.

The Faculty Council is a subcommittee of Senate, which has a membership of all teaching faculty, academic administrators, and a student representative.

In addition to the overall Faculty Council, there are four other faculty bodies, which each include numerous Departments and Schools, offering numerous undergraduate and graduate programs: Faculty of Arts, Faculty of Professional Studies, Faculty of Pure and Applied Science, and Faculty of Theology (within the Acadia Divinity College).
